robbie: still a cheeky bugger

i’m not sure how many of you have already seen this, but i couldn’t pass up passing this along… so robbie williams has always been a tease, but it seems that now he has finally followed through. in new a promo for his website, he promises viewers can “get more robbie.” you’ll be pleased to see just how much he means.

sure this is a shameless album plug. his new disc, intensive care, dropped this week. while “tripping,” the record’s first single, has fared well in the rest of the world, it has yet to make any sort of splash on u.s. radio or television. but i’m not complaining about robbie’s controversial bid for attention. actually, i’m sure i’m not the only greedy one who wants even more…

showing us up

just like the brits are always superior to the grammys, it seems like every year mtv europe one-ups american mtv with their version of the video music awards. if i hadn’t watched the diddy-hosted US broadcast with a fellow cynic and a bottle of vodka, i probably would have falled asleep twenty minutes in (though i hopefully would have come-to by kelly clarkson’s energetic “rain”-soaked finale).

of course, this year was no different. sure, we had green day, but so did mtv europe. of course, they got madonna, who unsurprisingly stole the show with her performance of “hung up” and her outrageous costume choices (a leotard and a cameltoe!). what do we get? snoozefests like r. kelly’s twenty-minute “performance art” piece to “trapped in a closet”… need i say more??

does anyone know when we’ll get to see it stateside? usually they make us wait a few months, as punishment for simply being american. hmmm, these days i suppose we deserve it.
