actor jamie bell is confused why people thinks he’s gay. the 19-year-old screen star, whose major claim to fame is his award-winning performance in billy elliot, says the rumors have been around for a while.

jamie allegedly told a friend, who told contact music, that it started after he moved in with billy elliot’s director, the openly gay stephen daldry (who also happens to be happily married to a woman - you figure that one out!).

that whole situation seems very bizarre to me, but i’m not sure if it means jamie bell is gay. unfortunately.

this poster, which i just spotted over at a socialite’s life, is absolutely hysterical. you’ve got to be living under a rock if you don’t know that brokeback mountain is about gay cowboys. from the looks of this poster, it’s about a young, idealistic family with a cute baby - and perhaps it takes place on a mountain!

i haven’t said much about this film yet, primarily because i’m really sick of reading about it (certain blogs have had a hard-on for brokeback for more than a year now). yes, i am intrigued by the number of golden globe nominations it received, but this marketing campaign is just a joke.

i saw narnia last night, and i must admit that something distracted me throughout the film. no, it wasn’t the talking beavers or tilda swinton’’s icicle tiara. it was eldest brother peter (played by the delicious william moseley) that demanded my attention.

i know that several of my companions also enjoyed mr. moseley, so at least i am not alone in my shameful lust. maybe it’s the accent, or maybe it was the fact that he looked hot wielding a sword (!). whatever it was, i suddenly had a bizarre craving for jesus juice. but don’t worry! it turns out that our young hero is just barely 18 years old. so why do i still feel like a perverted old man?

as the grammy award nominations were released yesterday, mariah carey received 8 nods for her latest album, the emancipation of mimi. the comeback queen is up for several major awards, including album of the year and record of the year for “we belong together.”

of course, i’m happy for that crazy bitch, as mimi is my guiltiest pleasure - but i’m a little bit worried at the same time.

let’s not start reinflating that massive diva ego again! i know everyone remembers the last time she started thinking her shit doesn’t stink. she called it glitter, we called it a joke. grammy voters, it’s up to you! give an award or two to gwen instead. i’d love to see mariah’s famous fake smile as the record of year grammy was given to “hollaback girl” (though i don’t think that song deserves it).

the break-up rumors keep getting worse for britney and kevin. considering how much recent tabloid gossip has turned out to be true, everyone’s crossing their fingers that britney and kevin are headed for a split. what’s the longest a marriage can last before an annulment is no longer an option?

i’m intrigued by how many couples have been calling it quits in the past month. nicole richie just dumped her dj. jessica simpson got bored with nick. even nobodies like kimberly stewart and that laguna beach tool are jumping on the bandwagon. what’s going on? is it the time of year? is it all just business? or is everyone in hollywood just too horny for monogamy?

also, sorry i’ve been mia. i’ve been in hibernation after my raucous birthday celebration. you should have been there!

being a sagitarrius is a blessing, but sharing a birthday with tyra banks is sort of a curse. yeah, she is beautiful and successful, but she’s also sort of ridiculous. then again, so am i.

who else? there’s marisa tomei, the fluke oscar winner who is currently pushing hanes products. and jeff daniels… most memorably, he played the role of “dumber” in dumb and dumber. who else? oh yeah! jay-z. he and i probably have the most in common. he’ll shoot a bitch who steps to him - just like me.

that’s right, i said it. brad pitt is a major chicken-shit.

his publicist announced today that he intends to adopt angelina jolie’s children, maddox and zahara. they are even going to change the kids’ last names to “jolie-pitt.” beyond that, including his relationship with angelina jolie, he has no comment.

what a fucking joke! brad pitt, i am quickly losing what little respect i have left for you. just ‘fess up, already!! damn.

they got it right over at a socialite’s life. apparently the other day was celebrity drunk driving day!

lost’s michelle rodriguez (mug shot pictured) and cynthia watros both got arrested (separately) in hawaii the other day for driving under the influence. i’m assuming they were drinking together, since they were pulled over on the same road within 15 minutes of each other.

elsewhere on the planet, vince vaughn was pulled over as well. lucky for him, he miraculously passed a breathalizer test. but of course you want to know about the juiciest bit - jennifer aniston was in the car with him, and i gather she wasn’t too sober either. instead of letting jen take the wheel, the pair opted to ride home with friends in another car.

one question remains - if you’re making the kind of money that these people make (well, vince and jen make a bit more than the lost girls, i’m sure!), why don’t you just get a cab or a limo or something? save yourself and the other drivers out there! idiots.

it’s world aids day today, so it’s the perfect time to remind everyone to be safe - and if you haven’t been, get tested.

i hate to be cynical on a day of awareness, but i just caught bush’s speech on cnn. as he rambled - i mean, as he explored his wisdom on the subject - he kept mentioning compassion, which is a bit hypocritical if you ask me (since when is he compassionate about anything? unless of course it puts more money in his bank account).

i was especially shocked when he began to speak about the gay community - initially in a not so negative light. he said things were getting better (which is actually only sort of true, as new cases are on the rise among younger gay males), but then he put his own condescending spin on it, basically saying that the gay community has been fighting this disease for years! it was very difficult to tell if it was praise or blame. thanks, dubya. i guess.
