britain’s top selling male artist, james blunt, has accomplished a major feat - he is actually enjoying success on this side of the pond! his debut single, “you’re beautiful,” just knocked beyonce off the top of the billboard charts, which is no small feat. the even bigger news? blunt is the first brit to top that chart since elton john way back in 1997 (with “candle in the wind/something about the way you look tonight”).
i am impressed. good for james blunt! but how the hell has it been that long since a limey has had a no. 1 u.s. single?? with the amount of amazing music coming out of my beloved britain, i think this is very sad. wait a minute… i’m sure madonna has had a no. 1 since then!! billboard needs to check its facts. ha!
