that was the question on every queer’s mind during last night’s airing of the mtv movie awards. wouldn’t it have been nice if they could have re-enacted it even just a little, like selma blair and sarah michelle gellar did when they won “best kiss” several years ago? heath was a no-show, but jake’s speech made up for it.

“this is a real honor, not just for me and heath but for all of you, that you picked this movie and this kiss over all the other ones.” he went on to thank all those “struggling with love” (ie coming out?)… and just when you thought he might be including himself, he added it was “all of us.” (click here for video)

other than that, the best part was the musical interludes. christina aguilera belted out her future chart-topper, “ain’t no other man,” and now i’m just itchin’ to see the video. gnarls barkley camped it up star wars-style for their performance of “crazy” (which you may recall, if you’ve been paying attention, i recommended a month ago!).

the main thing i could have done without? a.f.i. are these guys a joke or what? the lead singer looks like a tranny meth head. simply frightening! (no offense to my tranny girls out there, i love ya!)

if you missed it, do not fret. mtv will replay it all weekend. seriously, 20 times at least.
