i don’t normally write about politics, but i couldn’t pass this up…
i just saw an amusing campaign ad for harold ford, jr., in which a robin leach impersonator raves about “the fabulous life of bob corker,” ford’s opponent in the tennessee senate race. apparently corker, who had recently been endorsed by president bush, has a 30-room mansion, is worth over $200 million, owns 6 s.u.v.’s, and gave himself 3 pay increases while denying raises for cops and firefighters. as the ad concludes, the announcer asks, “as senator, who do you think he’ll look out for?”
while the ad definitely gets your attention, i highly doubt ford is living in van down by the river. what i really want to know is how he’s voting on the amendment banning gay marriage. why doesn’t it mention that on his website??
while i’m on the subject of admirable politicians, check out the risque instant messages of republican mark foley! “get a ruler and measure it for me” has got to be my favorite bit. what a dirty old man.
ok, political rant over! i wonder what geri halliwell is doing right now…
