chain reaction

neil-patrick-harris.jpgthat episode of the office titled “gay witch hunt” wasn’t far off the mark. the latest celeb to be pushed out of the closet is neil patrick harris - a.k.a. doogie howser - who currently stars on a the sitcom how i met your mother.

ever since lance bass, people have been coming out left and right - whether they wanted to or not (like that guy from grey’s anatomy).

i do think this is a good thing, even if it might hurt one’s job prospects (though i don’t really think we’ve seen that lately)… because i really believe that the more openly gay role models we have out there, the more likely we are to attain that seemingly unreachable goal of acceptance.

good luck to neil and his boyfriend! i’ll be rooting for his relationship and career. i just have one question - why the fuck does everyone come out to people magazine?

heart in a headlock

thefeeling.jpg

i first wrote about the feeling last week, when i found out about lead singer dan gillespie sells’ orientation. i immediately fell in love with their new u.k. single, “love it when you call,” but i couldn’t find the full version of the video anywhere on the ‘net!

since this band is by far my new favorite, i’m going to recommend the video for their breakthrough single, “sewn.” it’s a very pretty little song (especially the harmonies) - nothing revolutionary, but still… the delivery is so damn earnest i can’t help but love it. plus, now that we know our danny boy is a pouf, as they say, it makes me wonder about the song’s inspiration. some tragic queen, no doubt.

even if the video is a bit spooky (by taking the title of the track quite literally), it’s definitely worth a look. so go on then, check out the video of the week!
