music blogs have been buzzing for months about shiny toy guns, but i sort of ignored the hype machine. i mean, the world already has plenty of moody black-clad kids who intentionally spell things incorrectly (if anyone else puts an ’s’ in dance i will confiscate their eyeliner!).

a few weeks back, itunes had their industrial-strength single, “le disko,” available as a free download, and i thought to myself, why the hell not?

you can probably guess that i totally fell in love with “le disko.” it’s got screechy guitars and a chorus that screams, “i’m miserable, let’s dance!” i’m not sure if shiny toy guns have any other tricks up their vinyl sleeves - usually bands like this are pretty one-note - but this will surely satisfy my goth teen-angst appetite for a while. check it out over at myspace, or if you’re feeling adventurous, inquire at your local hot topic… haha!
