they would have to part ways sooner or later. american idol finalists and self-proclaimed “best friends” blake lewis, left, and chris richardson couldn’t both win the singing competition.
“why did you do this america?” blake joked as they stood center stage, waiting to find out the results. in a touching (if slightly untruthful) moment, chris even claimed he would go home for blake. in the end, of course, that wasn’t necessary. chris was sent home.
chris hugged all the remaining finalists as he sang his final notes on the show, but the most lingering embrace was reserved for blake. it was very emotional, i know. but fret not, my little fairies! the two will reunite on stage when the top ten finalists tour the country this summer.
