bringing back the heat
canadian rockers hot hot heat are releasing their new album, happiness ltd., next week, and somehow i’m only just now hearing about it.
led by curly-haired singer steve bays, the band first burst onto the scene with hits like “talk to me, dance with me” and “bandages” in 2003. their second album, elevator, wasn’t quite as memorable.
fortunately, the new disc shows promise. it has been preceded by two stellar singles, “give up?” and “let me in.” the latter is especially amazing — it’s sounds better than anything on the last killers’ record — so i’m including the video for you here as well. it could be the perfect vehicle to help relaunch the band’s success.
