The ‘Beat Goes On

alphabeat2.jpgThere is something almost annoyingly cheerful about Alphabeat. Maybe it’s the cheeky grins, perhaps it’s the boundless enthusiasm. Whatever it is, I find myself drawn to them — while many might be repulsed. I liken it to my bizarre S Club 7 fixation several years back.

Anyway, here are those adorable Danes with the video for their new U.K. single, “10,000 Nights.” Lord knows this will never see the light of day in the U.S., so if you’re stateside and you like what you hear, you may have to resort to nasty measures (unless you’d like to buy an overpriced import single). Although I don’t endorse illegal downloading, surely you can find it out there somewhere! Good luck.

Sports Bars Are Gay

The Onion did an amusing piece the other day about a sports bar “coming out.” The fake news article is full of stereotypes — like “Madonna always playing on the jukebox” — but the best joke comes in the last paragraph.

“Goddamn gay bars taking over everything,” former patron Dennis Averill said upon hearing the news. “All I want is a normal bar where I can get a beer, watch the game, hang out with no one but men, and maybe get jerked off by a 19-year-old twink in a Dolce & Gabbana tank top before last call. Is that so much to ask?”

On a side note, I apologize for the extended hiatus. I suppose I wasn’t so inspired recently. Hopefully that has passed. :-)
