Too Little, Too Late for Kylie Video

Here’s the clip for Kylie’s “The One,” which should have been a huge hit on both sides of the pond. Unfortunately, the single came out a month ago overseas and this promo video just came out last week. Yes, I’m confused as well. I’d be shocked if it was ever properly released in the U.S.

Anyway, the Freemasons remix of the track certainly gays it up a bit. The video capitalizes on that fact with an oiled-up, speedo-clad gent who appears frequently in the kaleidoscopic clip, though as a whole it looks like it was made with much haste. And what’s with the theme? Is it Old Hollywood Glam? Because that bob and the specs Kylie is sporting near the end completely shatter the classic feel. Oh well, I suppose it’s better than nothing. Rant over! :-)

Oh Make Me Over

Chances are you don’t know these lads by looking at them. (If you do, well done! But this post won’t be as much fun for you, boohoo!) They are in fact a popular U.K. act who have achieved moderate stateside success. Their new direction, however, is much more exciting than anything they’ve done before. Have a listen to their brilliant new single, “Spiralling”:

Retro-yet-futuristic, it’s insanely good, isn’t it? Now that you’ve heard the vocals you may have a better idea, so go ahead. Take a guess! The surprising answer is after the jump.

Uh Huh Her: Lesbian Wet Dream

If you’re a fan of The L Word, and you haven’t checked out electro-indie act Uh Huh Her, shame on you! Here’s the kick ass video for “Not A Love Song,” and in case you’re not grasping the connection, L Word cast member Leisha Hailey (the blonde, who plays Alice Pieszecki on the show) is one-half of the dynamic duo. Fuck T.A.T.U., this is the real deal!

The best part about the track? It doesn’t just appeal to gayelles, but also their queer male counterparts. I am totally digging this shit! It’s like Ladytron mixed with Client with a dash of Shiny Toy Guns. Trust.

The Presets Video: Hot Guys Fighting

If you don’t know about The Presets, listen up! The electro-industrial Aussies sound like a mix of Joy Division and The Pet Shop Boys, and if you’re a fan of both, you can only imagine how unbelievably fantastic this is.

A friend of mine turned me on to recent single “This Boy’s In Love” a while back, but I hadn’t watched the video until today. It features two disheveled yet handsome gents duking it out. Shirtless. In the rain. Under the moonlight. Yeah, it’s hott with two t’s — and not just a little homoerotic.

Anyway, The Presets’ latest album, Apocalypso, is packed with sounds just as mesmerizing. But here’s the clip I’ve been raving about:

Congrats to Ellen and Portia!

Gayelles unite! Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi have tied the knot in California, and I couldn’t be happier for these two donut bumpers. The ceremony took place in their Los Angeles home and they were surrounded by 19 close friends and family members. No word on whether or not Anne Heche was wandering aimlessly through the garden.

Another Amazing Santogold Video

Here’s Santogold’s “Lights Out,” an infectious mid-tempo song that I fell for on very first listen. It’s the current U.K. single, for those of you keeping track, though this promo clip is not as left field as her last video for “L.E.S. Artistes.” This will come as a welcome change for those who thought, “WTF?,” and as a disappointment for those who appreciated her previous avant garde approach. Regardless, the track fucking rocks!

PS. Sorry it’s been AGES. Life is keeping me busy, kids!
