There seems to be a surplus of female pop stars these days, and Britain seems to be the primary offender in every genre from soul (Amy Winehouse) to clever electro-pop (Lily Allen) to stylish synth-pop (Little Boots). It’s certainly easy to get lost in the shuffle, but it looks like London is producing major standout with electropop singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding.
Blogs have been buzzing about the up-and-coming artist thanks to her debut single, “Under the Sheets,” the video for which you can watch below. Think Frankmusik — only more organic — meets La Roux, only slighty less shrill. In a word, fantastic! I can’t wait to see what’s next for this potential pop powerhouse.
