    Some Days She’s a Super-Bitch

    2008 - 11.12

Christina Aguilera (pictured, right) finally addressed the comparisons she’s been receiving to up-and-coming pop star Lady GaGa — many saying that Christina’s new look seems like low-rent Lady GaGa — and she isn’t mincing words about it. While promoting her new singles compilation, Christina swore to the L.A. Times that she’d actually never heard of Lady GaGa until recently:

“You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.”

Damn, Christina! I can totally sense her contempt when she refers to Lady GaGa as “this person!” And then she calls her a tranny! Was that really necessary? Apparently there’s a little desperation in Camp Aguilera. I suppose a snarky-sound bite never hurt record sales.

Judging Christina Aguilera, For Better or Worse

    2008 - 09.18

It’s not especially fair to critique the artwork accompanying recording releases anymore. Now that physical singles are next to non-existent, the only time we ever see these creations is on our iPods. As you can see below, the “cover art” for Christina Aguilera’s new single, “Keeps Gettin’ Better,” is slightly more appealing when it is reduced in size.

The song is from the pop diva’s upcoming greatest hits collection, appropriately titled Keeps Gettin’ Better – A Decade of Hits. She performed the electro-inspired track on the MTV VMA awards a few weeks ago (looking like Lady GaGa I might add), and so far the response has been mixed. I actually like it, even if I feel like, as a new mother, Christina shouldn’t be singing about being a super-bitch even if it is true. Maybe the little one is keeping her up at night?? Let’s hope there’s a big-budget video in the works that makes it all better.

Here’s the song, by the way, in case you haven’t heard it. Tell me what you think!

    makes my cherry pop

just when you thought it couldn’t get any gayer…

i thought i’d follow up my mostly-naked guys post with a fag-tastic dose of christina aguilera… here’s the sassy clip for her very retro new single, “candyman.” i know pretty much everyone on the planet thinks this song is annoying, but i kinda like it.

    hell hath no fury…

    xtinared3.jpg…like scott storch scorned!*

christina aguilera allegedly dissed the super-producer on “f.u.s.s.,” a track off her fab new album, back to basics. not one to take criticism lightly, storch told in touch weekly, “i worked on half of her last cd and sold her millions of copies. obviously, she cares more than i do that i didn’t do this album. but i can’t blame her, with an album full of fillers, oversinging and lame vegas-like cabaret music. you should fire your management for letting me slip through your fingers.”

storch has a good track record, i’ll give him that, but he’s giving himself way too much credit here. even people who don’t really like christina admit that she’s got loads of talent. scott storch, on the other hand, has lately been reduced to working with paris hilton and brooke hogan. i’m quite sure our favorite dirrrty girl will have the last laugh with this one.

*i couldn’t bear to post his hideous mug on here… you’re welcome.

    still going strong

i was hoping it would happen… and it has. christina aguilera’s brand new single has leaked onto the internet, and while it’s not quite what i expected, i predict big things for “ain’t no other man.” of course the blogosphere is abuzz with this news, and since i’m a fan, i had to join the fray.what’s most impressive to me is how christina keeps on keepin’ on. when “genie in a bottle” helped her break through 7 years ago (wow!), everyone thought she was the poor man’s britney. my how the tables have turned!

that said, when you hear the vocals on “ain’t no other man,” how could we ever have questioned the longevity mrs. bratman in the first place? the song is smokin’ and i can’t wait to see her perform it live next thursday on the mtv movie awards.

as of now, you can still nab the track over at spine magazine. check it out. and let me know what you think! christina’s new disc, back to basics, comes out in august.
