Kylie Set to Storm U.S.?

kylieallisee.jpg

After releasing three different singles to various markets around the globe, Kylie’s U.S. record label, Capitol, decided to go with a completely new track for the North American market.

With its laid-back R&B flavor, “All I See” is tailor-made for U.S. radio, and if the song’s early success in Canada is any indication, Kylie could have another hit on her hands. “All I See” doesn’t have a video yet, and as far as I know one hasn’t been shot, but hopefully that will change. You can, however, download the single from the U.S. iTunes store here — and request it at your local station now!

The fact that 4 tracks have hit radio should tell you something about Kylie’s diverse new album, X (due in the U.S. April 1) — it’s fucking fantastic!

Kylie Double Feature

Can you imagine how excited I am right now? TWO Kylie videos made their world premieres yesterday. Up top we’ve got “Wow,” a disco-pop gem which is climbing the charts in the U.K. and Australia and is now rumored to be the first single in the U.S. The visuals, the set, the costumes — everything is absolutely stunning.

And down below you’ll find new European single “In My Arms,” a future club classic. The new clip features the pop princess sporting Kanye West inspired sunglasses and a fabulous checkered dress. Enjoy!

x: track by track

kyliexcover.jpg

i finally have the new kylie album, and it is pretty much amazing. for all the super fans out there who have yet to hear x (it’s out next week in europe but not till february in the u.s.), here’s a detailed synopsis. (you can stream it in full at mtv.uk.)

  • 2 hearts - it’s not “can’t get you out of my head,” but i think it is one of her best singles to date. i love the burlesque-glam vibe, and i love that it’s winning over new fans.
  • like a drug - this electro-pop gem could have been on britney’s blackout, only this is much better. it definitely has radio potential.
  • in my arms - the first of 3 tracks leaked from the studio sessions. this club banger has been condensed (i miss some of the spoken bits), but it is still unbelievably fab.
  • speakerphone - how’s that vocoder? there’s too much talk of bones, but still it sounds like fever. i’m ready to dance!

‘the kylie show’ eases wait for new album

kyliedannii.jpg

i’m very jealous of the brits at the moment. not only do they get a proper release of her new album, x, way before we do in the u.s., but they also get a prime time television special starring the pint-sized pop star.

thank god for youtube, where one sparkling diamond decided to post the whole of the program for fans outside the u.k. to enjoy. the kylie show features several new songs from her highly-anticipated new disc, including performances of lead single “2 hearts” and the disco-tastic “wow,” plus a handful of comedy sketches.

my favorite skit has to be the one in which kylie and sister dannii have a dynasty-style catfight. kylie taunts dannii for being on a talent show (she’s a judge on x-factor) and after they are interrupted by simon cowell, well, i won’t ruin the punchline. in the following montage of clips, skip to about 5:50 for the minogue tete-a-tete… and if you’re so inclined, you can find the entire show after the jump.

blast-off

kyliex.jpgand here it is! the wait is over for the new kylie single, “2 hearts.” i was expecting the track to drop first with the video debuting a week or two from now, but i was mistaken.

glam rock kylie commands the stage in the stunning performance clip. i love the visuals (the costumes, the set, all of it) and as for absolutely amazing song — it will be on repeat indefinitely.

kudos to kylie’s team for keeping this under wraps until oct 10. i was sure it was going to leak beforehand, but that was not the case. the only teaser we got was the cover of kylie x (pictured).

any thoughts, readers??

waiting for that feeling

kyliehat.jpgthe speculation never ceases when it comes to kylie’s much-anticipated tenth album, dubbed kylie x by fans. every site from popbytes to arjan writes has weighed in on the issue, as have i.

though details have yet to be confirmed, popjustice claims to know about the imminent announcement — they coyly refuse to elaborate. they’re excited enough about her return to place her at number one on their “pj almighty” list of top pop artists.

while you wait for the big news, i recommend checking out one of the superior leaked tracks, “in my arms,” which is allegedly her collaboration with calvin harris. the retro-electro track is miles beyond harris’ own music, in my humble opinion, but i’m hardly an impartial party where kylie is concerned. for the time being you can listen to it on the imeem player in the sidebar or on a random unofficial kylie myspace page.

if nothing else, at least her cover of roxy music’s “love is the drug” will be available soon. that should tide me over for a bit.

love at first sight

kyliela3.jpg

a massive billboard of kylie has gone up on the side of los angeles’ famed roosevelt hotel. the pint-sized popstar’s new line of swimwear can now be purchased at u.s. h&m shops, and i’m very happy that the clothing chain has decided to hype ms. minogue’s arrival.

hopefully this will set a precedent, and kylie’s profile will remain high until her new album comes out (unfortunately we’re still waiting to hear when that will be). then again, unless you already love kylie, is anyone likely to know that’s her up there? oh well, all publicity is good publicity, i suppose.

a welcome diversion

kyliehm.jpgi think we all need to get our minds off the tragic events in virginia right now, so here’s a little something to to brighten up your day… if you’re a kylie fan (the rest of you will have to look elsewhere for distractions!).

another track allegedly recorded by the pint-sized pop diva has found its way to the internet. “when the cat’s away” (download it here via ultimate music zone) is another slinky slice of electro-pop that would have been right at home on kylie’s last full-length, body language. it’s nothing revolutionary, but i really like it.

of course, this early on we don’t know if this is going to be the first single from kylie’s as-yet-untitled next album — which is set for a fall release — but at the current rate of these songs leaking online (whether or not kylie takes credit for them), we’ll have a full album’s worth of material before the end of the summer! i say keep ‘em coming.

if kelly clarkson’s more your style, you can nab her rocking brand new single, “never again,” over at ultimate music zone along with several other just-leaked singles. enjoy!

kylie dresses the part

kyliechina1.jpga friend of mine asked if i had seen the recent photos of slightly-bloated kylie (i hadn’t). here’s one that prove that rumor wrong. the jury’s still out on the plastic surgery, though (i’m leaning toward no).

amandalepore.jpgkylie looks stunning here, and that bob is adorable! as for the red lipstick, well, she is promoting h&m in china (which would explain the dress), so i guess she was going for dramatic. can’t say i love the look, but i don’t hate it either. the snarky michael k over at dlisted said she looked like amanda lepore, and while the silly comparison did make me pee a little, i’d hardly call it accurate.

there’s one more pic after the jump in which my dear kylie looks a little less cartoonish… and just like herself, in my opinion!

‘french’ twist

excusemyfrench.jpgaccording to a statement on kylie minogue’s official web site, “excuse my french,” a track that many believed had somehow leaked from her current recording sessions, isn’t kylie after all.

the site claims kylie has never recorded a song by that name, despite the fact that the vocals sound exactly like those of the australian pop princess. since they say it isn’t kylie, that means i can share the mp3 here on ¡viva la graham! without legal consequences… so here you go (right click save as)! obviously, like myself, some other obsessed fan was convinced enough to create this mock-up of a single sleeve cover (pictured), so this official denial really only deepens the mystery.

though the truth may never be known, i think the track was purposely leaked to see what sort of immediate response the demo would receive on the internet. many were not impressed, which could explain why she would not accept responsibility for it. i agree that it’s not the best song ever — definitely not single material — but it would have been a nice album track.

any thoughts from other kylie fans out there?
